In 30 yrs. I had never had a hard-drive crash on me, so I thought they might be over-reacting or just unlucky. So far it has proven to be reliable and quick. While it seems that many prefer the better known drive makers they are missing out on a great drive when they don't assess this one. I have purchased Deskstars since they were an IBM company and they have been the most reliable drives I could ask for. [3] Rating: 4 Date: 2010-02-27 Summary: missing cable ... Just tried to install this drive and found out that they supply a SATA data cable but no SATA to L4 power adapter. Radio Shack does not carry them in store, so I just ordered one online for $0.95. Nice going Hitachi, for less that a buck you created an unhappy customer. I'll be back with the rest of the story after my cable arrives........ OK, I got the cable in just a few days, install was easy, the drive runs great.
